The CMAD was first held in the United States on January 25, 2010. The event became an international event the following year, when a CMAD event was held in Nairobi, Kenya. The first European country to celebrate the CMAD was Finland in 2012. The list of countries celebrating the CMAD has since expanded to include the US, Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, the UK, Canada, South Africa, and Finland, China, France.
