Couple Appreciation Day
Couple Appreciation Day is observed next on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 (161 days from today).
If you're single, sweet couples whispering to each other for hours on end can make you feel nauseous. And being invited to a dinner you know will be attended by a bunch of smug couples who just don't understand your relationship with a bottle of wine can feel like a form of torture.
On the other hand, if you're in a relationship, especially a long-term one, you may sometimes wonder where things are going and why the two of you don't seem to enjoy the togetherness each other's actions as much as before arriving.
Whichever side you're on, Couple Appreciation Day can help you make some changes for the better.
History of Couple Appreciation Day
National Couples Appreciation Month was established in 2010 by Blissful Escapes, which, in the company's words, "encourages couples to do something special to strengthen and celebrate their relationship." Since then, this idea has begun to arise among couples and singles who want to show their friends how much they like their company. The best holidays are the ones that offer something for everyone!
Some reasons for Couple Appreciation Day being loved
- It's an excuse to revive the romance
The flame of romantic love can sometimes go out when left unattended. That's why there's always a reminder every now and then. Celebrate by showing even more appreciation in April and just see if they get a little excited.
- It's a month long
Valentine's Day lasts only 24 hours, but National Couples Appreciation Month lasts the entire *consultation calculator*...720 hours! Have a weekly date night in April that means four or five special nights instead of just one.
- It's all about your lover
Let's face it - you fell in love with your crush for a reason. Maybe she has the biggest smile on the planet or he's the best dancer in town. Couples Appreciation Month is about appreciating the things that bring you down, and maybe even finding a reason to fall more.
How to Celebrate National Couple Appreciation Day
We all know how easy it is to fall into a routine, and routine spontaneity, and all of that leads to a relationship that can start off pretty boring. But that doesn't mean it's time to end things!
Celebrate this month by remembering what made you fall in love with your partner in the first place and doing the things you've always loved together. Sure, you might not be able to go out to town every late night for a drink and watch the stars when you both have 9 to 5 jobs, childcare, and a mortgage to pay. But that doesn't mean you can't hang out together every week or even once a month to spend an evening together, just the two of you.
You may not get the chance to travel as much anymore, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't travel together every once in a while, if only for a few days, just the two of you. And don't forget that love is for the little things too! Make your significant other, wake him or her up just to say “I love you” (instead of “Buy milk!”), cuddle while watching your favorite TV show… all of this and more will bring you closer together.
On the other hand, if you're single, take a moment this month to show your double friends how much you appreciate them, the lovely dinners they make when you arrive and how they have can give both men. and a woman's perspective on your dilemma.
Maybe it's your turn to offer them a nice meal or ask them if they'd like to go on a short trip with you? Before and more than ever, it's the little things that make a big difference — just letting them know how much you appreciate your relationship is sure to make their day.
No matter which side you're on, making sure you never take someone for granted is a great way to make your relationship better, and it's a win-win situation. Catholic!
