Mothers at the Wall Day
Mothers at the Wall Day is observed next on Sunday, May 11th, 2025 (171 days from today).
Mothers at the Wall Day on the second Sunday in May is dedicated for mothers who have lost a child to war.
Losing your child is the worst thing to any mothers in the world. If you have lost someone who died fighting for our country, you will have the heartfelt sympathy of an entire nation when you visit the Vietnam Memorial Wall for a special Mother's Day ceremony.
The important thing we have to do is to protect and care for these mothers to help them have a better life without their children. Moreover, let prepare some activities to honor veterans who die in war.
- Decorate a grave with flowers
In the United States, there are 134 national cemeteries as well as dozens of state cemeteries where veterans and soldiers are buried. Many of these cemeteries house veterans and servicemen from past wars. Although these cemeteries are well maintained, many of the old graves have not been decorated for many years. Get your family together and "adopt" an older grave by placing flowers or wreaths around it. Visiting a veteran's cemetery is also a great opportunity to give your child a history lesson about past wars.
- Wearing customs but not the flag
Many people don't know that the flag is not meant to be used as an accessory, even if it is printed as a design on fabric. The best way is that you shouldn’t use single-use items such as napkins and flags. The flag is not intended for decoration, although you will begin to see it used in more places as the summer months approach. Instead of showing your patriotism with a t-shirt or napkin, use a more general color palette rather than red, white and blue or star motifs.
- Support and show gratitude to living veterans
While Memorial Day is when we honor those who have fallen, you don't have to wait until Veterans Day in November to show your support for veterans who are still alive. Many veterans are in need of support, whether it's help accessing health care or simply a need for companionship. There are different ways to create a difference for veterans. One of the easiest ways is to donate your vehicle to the Veterans Vehicle Foundation. By anyway, your donation helps give disabled veterans a better life.
