March 21 every year is National Crispy Taco Day! Why? According to John-Bryan ending at the Foodimentary, on March 21, 1962, the first Taco Bell opened. They were the first to pre-fry tortilla shells for their tacos. Another neat fact he pointed out was that the tacos were only 19° a piece before; I'll eat like a king—or rey de Taco Bell!
