National Poetry at Work Day

Poetry Day at Work is an annual celebration held on January 12 this year.  Have you ever imagined yourself writing a poem on a working day in your office?  Otherwise you are allowed to write and read your poem about the office on a calendar day.  Usually, you will notice some beautiful and wonderful things in your office.  Turn them into a poem with all your word creativity.  Poetry Day at Work is a special day for all those who are working, and it encourages them to write a poem about their workplace.

History of Poetry at Work Day

Poetry Day at Work was established to encourage creativity and make a difference to an ordinary working day.  Often, we are so absorbed and engaged in work-related tasks that we don't notice what's around us or don't really think about what we're doing.

We work through lists, we meet deadlines, and we ignore tasks, instead focusing on the impact of what we do or our surroundings.  This is a day that offers the ideal opportunity to take a break, record what's going on, and see the workday from a different perspective.

You don't have to be a poetic genius to enjoy and reap the rewards of Poetry Day at work.  From hilarious rhyming couplets that will bring laughter to the rest of the office to heartbreaking quotes that never have to be shared with a maxim theme, this is your chance to discover the privilege of writing and reading poetry.

How to celebrate Poetry at Work Day

There are a lot of ways to celebrate Poetry at Work Day in the workplace.  From something as simple as reading out a favorite poem together as a group to hosting poetry contests, this is an opportunity to encourage and support budding poets and bring colleagues together.
