Rapture Party Day
Rapture Party Day is observed next on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 (178 days from today).
Rapture may not be a matter of joking or partying for those who believe it will in 2011 and it's easy to see why. Imagine believing that 200 million people around the globe were suddenly sucked into the sky without warning, amid unprecedented earthquakes and relentless plagues - that's terrifying, right?
Fortunately, the predictions turned out to be completely wrong. But why let an opportunity to celebrate that hasn't been destroyed go to waste? If human existence is not an occasion to celebrate, then what is? What are you waiting for? It's time for a Rapture Day party!
History of Rapture Party Day
Harold Camping, the former president of Family Radio, a Christian broadcasting network, predicted in 2001 that rapture, the end of the world, and the ascension of Christians to heaven would happen. out on May 21st, 2011. He predicted. It will take place at 6pm. local time, and then globally happening one time zone at a time. Advocates believe that about 200 million people, about 3% of the world's population, will be receptive. Camping predicts that Judgment Day will take place five months later on October 21st. This is not the first time he has made predictions about glee; he had previously predicted that it would happen in 1994.
Camping followers have begun to prepare for the impending rapture. They sell off their possessions, and some quit their jobs and dedicate their time to saving souls. A retired subway worker spent $140,000 on billboards about rapture. Most Christians do not believe Camping's prediction they quote Matthew 24:36, which says, "but of that day or hour no one knows." Atheists in particular have held parties on this day, but non-Christians and other Christians who think the prophecy is false also hold large parties. A Facebook event about "Posting Rapture Robbery" was attended by more than 830,000 people. The day has become a fast-paced Party Day and is celebrated in a variety of ways depending on the celebrity's point of view.
Of course, the rapture itself did not happen. After his prediction for rapture on May 21st did not come true, Camping changed his story to say that rapture, as well as the destruction of the earth, would then follow out on October 21st. On October 16th, he admitted that he doesn't know when. the end will come, and he will not comment after October 21st has passed. In March 2012, he said he was "humbly confused." Camping died in 2013.
