Wear a Star Day
Wear a Star Day is observed next on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 (142 days from today).
April 12 is “Wear a Star" day in memory of our "little stars" in heaven. These "little stars" are any case of child loss, including childbirth and miscarriage.
There is no greater pain than the loss of a loved one, especially the loss of children. For parents and families who have experienced the loss of a child, they really need a glimmer of hope to live well and happily for the rest of their lives. And to give hope to them, wear a Star Day is established and this day commemorates the "little stars" in heaven. Held annually on the 12th of April every year, Wear A Star Day partly brings solace in the hearts of parents, as well as loved ones who have just experienced a great loss in life.
Wear A Star Day History
Wear A Star Day is a daily holiday founded by a Christian non-profit group, The Project. With the desire to give parents and families more comfort and hope after experiencing the pain of losing a child.
These children are likened to small stars, bringing hope to parents and families. These "little stars" are children who died at an early age, as well as still born and babies who had a miscarriage.
On Wear a Star Day, everyone wears stars. The stars are worn today to spread hope. It doesn't matter if people wear them in any way as long as they are wearing them so people notice them and ask why they are being worn, it can be wear on shirts, necklaces, stickers or buttons. When people ask what the star means, the wearer has to answer that "it's to honor a 'little star'".
How to observe Wear a Star Day
Observe Wear a Star Day by wearing a star, whether it's a sticker, a shirt with a star, or something else. Wear it in a way that elicits questions from others about it. Let every one who ask you about know it is an honor for the children who passed away as children, and now the "little stars". This day has special significance for those who have lost a child or those close to someone who has lost a child, but anyone can observe this day. You can learn more about Project [R], the group's work of the day, by visiting their website or Facebook page.
