White Day or White Valentine takes place on March 14 every year and is welcomed by many young people around the world. So what is White Day? What is the meaning of White Valentine's Day? White Day or White Valentine, White Valentine (as many people call it) is White Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on March 14 every year (exactly 1 month after Red Valentine's Day February 14). White Valentine originated in Japan, originating from the story of a boy selling marshmallows who gave the girl he secretly loved and missed him a large box of snow-white candy in return for her love for him. Red Valentine's Day. That's why White Day is also known as "reciprocal day".

Although not as popular as Red Valentine's Day on February 14, White Valentine is also welcomed by many couples from all over the world. For them, Valentine White is a special occasion to return the other's feelings.

Usually, on this day, people will prepare sweet white gifts for the other half. There are some implicit rules that, if on White Valentine's Day, the other person gives you cookies, it means they love you, giving candy means that person likes you, and if you receive chocolate, that person just wants to be friends only with you.

Origin of White Day

White Day or White Valentine originates from Japan, accompanied by a fairly gentle, rustic and cute story.

In 1965 in Japan, a guy selling marshmallows received a gift from a girl who secretly loved and missed him on Red Valentine's Day (February 14), and in return for that love, he wanted to return the love of a girl so he decided to give her a big box of candy, white as snow. That is also the story of White Valentine's Day.

It seems that the sweet Red Valentine's Day (February 14) is still not enough for loving hearts, so many young people in Japan have taken more White Valentine's Day to express their love to their loved ones.

After Red Valentine's Day is exactly 1 month, many young people will respond to their loved ones with the gifts they received on February 14.

It is known that the first white Valentine was held in 1978 by the National Confectionery Industry Association of Japan with the purpose for boys to give gifts in return for girls. In some countries, White Valentine's Day is not as popular as Red Valentine's Day, but there are still many young people who give many special gifts to each other, especially white chocolate.

Observing White Day

White Day is also known as reciprocal day, so on White day, the best way to observe is to reciprocate someone's love for you on red Valentine’s Day. Young people believe that, if someone gives you a cookie on this day, it means that person loves you, candy means that person likes you, and if it is white chocolate, it means "Let's go. Friend!” Besides food, other gifts are also chosen such as shoes, towels, jewelry, bags, and stuffed animals. In the US some guys even give underwear to their girlfriends.
