European Neighbours' Day
European Neighbours' Day is observed next on Friday, May 30th, 2025 (189 days from today).
European Neighbours' Day is an action day in the European Union and takes place annually on the last Friday in May.
Each year, European Neighbours' Day keeps growing with new partners, which is the opportunity to reconnect with the values of solidarity, conviviality and friendship that should be at the forefront of neighbourly relations.
This almost forgotten postcard activity brought back memories for the elders involved, while also providing an opportunity for young people to express themselves in a way that is not common today.
The European Neighborhood Day celebration is an annual event that started in 1999 in Paris. It is now welcomed by millions of people - 1450 partner cities, housing organizations and associations are participating in more than 36 European countries with more than 30 million participants. This type of initiative aims at a strong community, the support, empowerment, understanding and appreciation of different cultures through different activities.
Thousands of handwritten postcards with wishes and messages in Croatian, English, German, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch and even Polish will be sent to European destinations, invite them to save the date to visit Primorje - Gorski Kotar neigbourhoods in 2020.
