Is fear or anxiety taking over your life? Are you often worried? Is your heart racing for no reason, causing a feeling of panic? Are you having trouble sleeping, or feeling sad and blue in the face?
Anxiety and depression take many forms. Find out if you are suffering from unnecessary anxiety or depression by attending National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day, Wednesday, May 5, at the Danbury Hospital Community Behavior Center (CCBH), 152 West Street, Danbury. The free, confidential screening and education program runs from 8 to 9 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. at CCBH.
Screeners will watch videos to learn more about anxiety and depressive disorders, take a screening test and receive a free, confidential meeting with a mental health specialist from Danbury Hospital. If needed, a referral will also be provided at that time.
National Anxiety Disorders Screening Day aims to educate and raise awareness of the public about the painful physical symptoms of anxiety and depressive illnesses.
You can overcome your fears, worries and the many symptoms that come with them by getting the right help. Participating in this 5/5 survey is sure to take a step in the right direction.
